Friday to bring sunnier, warmer weather to Latvia
Latvia will see somewhat sunnier and warmer weather on Friday, though short spells of rain and localized thunderstorms are expected in many areas. Forecasters warn of a major weather shift over the weekend as an active cyclone approaches from the south.

Meteorologists forecast that weather conditions in Latvia will improve on Friday, with more sunshine and rising air temperatures. The day will not be entirely dry, however — short bursts of rain are expected in many parts of the country, with thunderstorms possible in some regions. Northern Kurzeme has the highest likelihood of thunderstorms.
Daytime air temperatures across most of the country are expected to reach between +20 and +25 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Riga
The capital will see light cloud cover on Friday. Short-term rain and the possibility of a thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the day in Riga as well. Daytime air temperature in the capital will rise to between +23 and +24 degrees.
Change expected over the weekend
Forecasters have already warned that weather conditions will deteriorate on Saturday. An active cyclone will reach Latvia from the south, bringing heavy rain and strong wind to many areas. A storm and thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in some locations.
