Sunshine expected across Latvia on the last workday of the week

Meteorologists forecast that Friday will bring light and variable cloud cover across Latvia, meaning sunshine will dominate in many areas on the last workday of the week.

Only brief rain

In the first half of the day, short-lived rain is possible in parts of the central and eastern regions of the country. Elsewhere, no precipitation is expected, and the overall character of the day will remain dry and sunny.

Wind and temperature

A west to northwest wind will blow during the day, with gusts reaching 9-14 meters per second, weakening to a light breeze by evening. Daytime air temperatures will climb to between +16 and +20 degrees.

In Riga, clouds will only occasionally block the sun, with a chance of brief morning rain. The gusty northwest wind will gradually shift to a lighter westerly flow, and the capital will warm up to +19 degrees.

High pressure influence

The weather is being shaped by an area of high atmospheric pressure. Pressure levels continue to rise, measuring between 1009 and 1016 hectopascals at sea level in the morning.
