Sign-up for Latvia's July State Defence Service intake extended to 17 March

Latvia has extended the deadline by which people can volunteer for the State Defence Service (VAD) in next year's July intake. The new application deadline is 17 March. The information was presented in the LSM video programme "Kas īsti notiek" ("What is really going on"), which was dedicated to the State Defence Service.

Selection in December

Although volunteers will be able to apply until March, the selection for the July intake will take place much earlier. A selection based on random choice is scheduled for this year, on 2 December. The source does not explain how this selection will work or who it applies to.
