Blood Donor Day at Bauska Hospital on Monday

Bauska Hospital is organizing a blood donor day on Monday, July 20, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will take place in the polyclinic hall on the third floor, according to the municipal company "Bauskas slimnīca". The State Blood Donor Center (VADC) advises that donors should feel well before donating. They must bring an identification document and their bank account number if they wish to receive monetary compensation.

To streamline the process, donors can fill out the donor questionnaire on the VADC website and print it out in advance. It is recommended to do so no earlier than one day before donation. Blood donations are crucial for helping patients during surgeries, acute bleeding, and in the treatment of oncological and hematological diseases.

A single donation can help up to three people in need. The procedure itself takes no more than half an hour. Donating blood not only helps others but also benefits the donor's health, such as renewing blood composition. Currently, donors with blood groups 0-, A-, and B- are especially needed.
