Monday to bring cloudier skies and rain to much of Latvia, showers expected in Riga by evening
On Monday, clouds will spread across Latvia from the west and rain is expected in many areas, while the eastern part of the country stays dry. In Riga, the morning will be sunny but rain is forecast for the evening.

Latvia's weather is set to shift on Monday, with meteorologists forecasting clouds moving in from the west and rain expected in much of the country. The eastern regions, however, are not expected to see any precipitation.
Winds will blow from the south and southwest at a slow to moderate pace, with gusts strengthening to 9-14 meters per second.
Temperature and pressure
Air temperatures will rise to between +23 and +26 degrees Celsius, while the western coast of Kurzeme will be cooler, at around +20 to +22 degrees.
In Riga, sunshine will warm the air to around +26 degrees in the morning, with clouds gradually building through the afternoon. Rain is expected to arrive in the capital by evening, accompanied by a moderate south wind.
The change in weather is being driven by a low-pressure trough and an atmospheric front approaching from the west. Sea-level air pressure will range across the country, from 1012 hectopascals in Kurzeme to 1019 hectopascals in Latgale.
