Artūrs Žagars, the playmaker of the Latvian national basketball team, will continue his career with Zhejiang Golden Bulls in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). This was confirmed by Krists Pīternieks, a Latvian basketball coach working in China, in a statement to LETA.

Pīternieks said that Žagars has been assigned a significant role in the team. At the same time, the coach noted that one of the biggest challenges will be coping with the intense season workload. Pīternieks, who is familiar with the specifics of Chinese basketball, emphasized that the player will need to handle the demands of a long and rigorous season.

The coach’s comments indicate that the club has high expectations for Žagars. The Latvian guard is expected to be a key part of the team structure, but that also brings responsibility. Pīternieks pointed out that the workload could be a decisive factor in whether Žagars lives up to the trust placed in him.

This move represents a new chapter in Žagars’ career as he transitions to a different basketball environment. His adaptability and endurance will be put to the test. Pīternieks’ assessment offers a glimpse into what lies ahead for the player, highlighting both the opportunities and the difficulties that come with joining a competitive CBA outfit.
