Latvia's Pļaviņš/Fokerots and Graudiņa/Samoilova claim second wins at Elite 16 in Montreal
Both top Latvian beach volleyball pairs have secured a second victory at the Elite 16 tournament in Montreal, Canada.
The prestigious Elite 16 beach volleyball tournament is currently underway in Montreal, Canada, featuring Latvia's two leading pairs — Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Kristiāns Fokerots in the men's event, and Tīna Graudiņa and Anastasija Samoilova in the women's event.
In the men's group stage, Pļaviņš and Fokerots suffered their first defeat of the group phase earlier in the day. However, the Latvian duo bounced back later on to secure a win, which was enough to guarantee them a spot in the play-off stage.
The women's pair had a smoother day, winning both of their matches played so far. This marks the second consecutive victory for Graudiņa and Samoilova at the tournament.
Both Latvian pairs will continue competing for top positions at the Elite 16 event in Montreal, one of the season's most significant fixtures on the international beach volleyball calendar.
