Plavins and Fokerots lose in Gstaad Elite 16 round of 16
Latvian beach volleyball pair Martins Plavins and Kristians Fokerots were defeated by an Israeli duo on Friday in Switzerland, ending their run in the prestigious tournament.
On Friday, July 3, the round of 16 of the Beach Pro Tour (BPT) Elite 16 tournament took place in Gstaad, Switzerland. The Latvian pair Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Kristians Fokerots faced Israel's Kevin Kuzmičovs and Eilon Elazar. The Latvians lost 1-2 in sets (22:20, 18:21, 12:15). After winning the first set, they lost the next two, exiting the tournament at the first elimination stage. The Israeli team was seeded 15th.
