The package name is com.google.android.apps.yourwidget, and the version currently on the Play Store, 1.27.983746769.0-desktop_release, is tied to the upcoming launch of Googlebooks — Google's latest attempt at a laptop platform built around ChromeOS devices that work closely with Android phones.

9to5Google reports the listing shows a release date of September 24, though the feature itself is expected to debut on Googlebooks devices in early October. On phones, the app offers a guided setup with categories such as weather alerts, world clocks, daily briefs (horoscopes, recipes), important-date countdowns, and market trackers, each showing a carousel of suggested widgets alongside an option to type a custom description. The Googlebooks version reportedly lists a broader set of categories, including sports, travel, and daily habits.

As nokiapoweruser.com explains, users could, for instance, ask for a flight countdown widget that also shows local weather and a currency exchange rate, and Gemini would generate a functional, Material Design–styled block instantly. The outlet compares the tool favorably to more technical alternatives like KWGT, noting it requires no design or coding skills, and frames it as part of Google's broader push to bring generative AI into Android personalization alongside AI wallpapers and themes. Android Police notes the app is already listed for download on the Play Store, though its own test device was not compatible.
