PLG Group Signs Agreement to Acquire Romanian Ticketing Company iaBilet
Estonia-based PLG Group has signed an agreement to acquire iaBilet, one of Romania's leading ticketing platforms, from private equity fund Resource Partners.
PLG Group, a Central European ticketing company, has signed an agreement to acquire Romanian ticketing firm iaBilet. The deal was concluded on May 20 and is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
Founded in 2012, iaBilet has become one of Romania's most recognized ticketing platforms, offering ticket sales for a wide range of entertainment events. Resource Partners acquired a majority stake in the company in September 2025. Within eight months, iaBilet demonstrated rapid commercial and operational growth, expanding partnerships with major Romanian festivals and introducing new products, including enhanced user experience features and self-service tools for event organizers.
PLG Group founder and Chairman Sven Nuutmann emphasized the company's focus on markets with long-term growth potential. He noted that the average ticket price in Central and Eastern Europe remains roughly half that of Western Europe, and the live entertainment industry continues to evolve. PLG plans to invest in artificial intelligence solutions and shared technology development across the group.
After the transaction closes, PLG will assess opportunities for deeper integration in Romania, leveraging the iaBilet platform. The current management team, including CEO Emil Ionescu, will remain with the group. PLG operates in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Romania, with shareholders including Angel Rose Capital, BaltCap, and Tristafan. Resource Partners is an independent private equity fund founded in 2009, having invested over €500 million.
