Officers from the State Police Riga Region Department this summer detained two individuals who had arrived at a man's location intending to rob him and inflict serious injuries. The suspects were armed with metal pipes in preparation for the assault.
The investigation revealed that the crime had been carefully planned and organized by a third member of the group, who coordinated the scheme while already held in a detention facility. The plot was thus devised from behind bars, with other individuals recruited to carry it out.
All suspects now in custody
Following their arrest, both individuals who carried out the plan, along with the prisoner who organized it, are currently held in custody. Police believe the planned attack was stopped before any physical harm was done to the intended victim.
The case details indicate that the detentions occurred in time to prevent a carefully prepared revenge scheme from being carried out. Further details about the circumstances of the arrest and the motives behind the plot have not been made public.
