The State Police have provided an update on the search for Juris Dmiščuks, a diver born in 1965, who disappeared on July 12 in Roja parish, Talsu municipality. He was diving with three companions at a shipwreck 10 nautical miles from shore. After the dive, only three divers surfaced; the fourth was not found.

The Coast Guard conducted a multi-day search using ships, an airplane, and a helicopter from Estonia, but no trace of the man was found. Police acknowledge that due to the diver's heavy equipment, the chance of his being washed ashore is small. If it does happen, it would most likely be along the coast between Roja and Riga. Anyone spotting the individual on the shore is urged to call emergency services at 112.
