Police dismantle armed criminal gang linked to kidnappings and a murder

Latvia's State Police, investigating a criminal case on banditry, have shut down an organized armed criminal group whose members are suspected of kidnapping, hostage-taking, extortion and murder. The investigation also led to the shutdown of a drug production laboratory tied to the group.

Latvia's State Police announced that, as part of a criminal investigation into banditry, they have dismantled a dangerous organized armed criminal group.

Members of the group are suspected of committing several serious crimes, including kidnapping, hostage-taking, extortion and murder.

Drug lab shut down

During the investigation, police also managed to identify and shut down a drug production laboratory connected to the group.

The police have not yet released further details on the number of suspects detained or the specific circumstances of the crimes.
