The State Police are looking for a man suspected of fraud and are asking the public to help establish his identity. The appeal comes from officers of the South Kurzeme precinct of the State Police Kurzeme regional board in western Latvia. Police have published a photograph of the man and are urging residents to take a close look at it.

Where the man was seen

According to the police, the person has been spotted in two Latvian towns: Liepāja and Olaine. Officers do not yet know who he is, which is why identifying him is the goal of this appeal. The announcement gives no further details about the alleged fraud, including when or how it took place.

What residents are asked to do

Anyone who has any information that could help establish the identity of the man in the photograph is asked to inform the police. Tips can be passed on by calling 112, the single emergency number.

Police stress that any detail that could help identify the man is useful. People who recognise the man in the picture, or who have seen him in the places mentioned, should contact the police rather than try to act on their own.
