Police identify who left e-scooters on a road near Keila
Estonian police have identified three young men who deliberately left electric scooters on a roadway near Keila. Misdemeanour proceedings have been opened.

Estonian police have identified three young men who deliberately left electric scooters on the roadway near Keila, a town in northwestern Estonia. The acts endangered road users, although nobody was hurt.
At the end of September, police received a report that an electric scooter was lying on the Paldiski highway, close to the Mudaaugu bus stop. According to Hisko Vares, head of the investigation unit at the Lääne-Harju police station, police received ten reports over the course of a month about scooters left on the carriageway. In one case a car drove into a scooter, but no one was injured. Vares' comments were distributed by the press service of the Police and Border Guard Board.
The investigation
Local officers questioned residents of the area. The inquiry was made harder by the absence of surveillance cameras there and, as far as police know, of any direct eyewitnesses. After lengthy work, the culprits were established: young men aged 17, 18 and 24.
Risk to traffic
Vares noted that the speed limit on this stretch of road is 70 km/h, and hitting an e-scooter in the dark at that speed could end very badly. In his words, the young men put other people in danger by their actions, and it was only by good fortune that nobody was harmed.
Police have launched misdemeanour proceedings in the case.
