Police officer faces criminal prosecution for unauthorized data use
The Internal Security Bureau (IDB) has called for criminal prosecution of a State Police officer who unlawfully accessed the CSDD vehicle and driver register and disclosed personal data to a third party.

The Internal Security Bureau (IDB) has concluded a pre-trial investigation, finding that a State Police official used access rights granted for official duties to check personal data in the Road Traffic Safety Directorate's (CSDD) Vehicle and Driver Register without legal grounds. The obtained information was then disclosed to an unauthorized third party.
The officer has been subjected to non-custodial security measures, including a ban on holding a specific position. The crime was uncovered in cooperation with the State Police.
The IDB reminds that any person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the law. The Bureau operates under the direct supervision of the Minister of the Interior and investigates crimes committed by employees of institutions subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior (except the State Security Service) and the Prison Administration, as well as violent crimes committed by Port Police and municipal police officers while on duty.
