Polish authorities have detained three individuals in connection with the murder of Russian opposition artist Semyon Skrepetsky in Biała Podlaska, with two placed in custody.

Polish police have detained three people in connection with the murder of Russian opposition artist Semyon Skrepetsky in the city of Biała Podlaska, according to RMF FM as reported by European Pravda.
Two of the detainees are in custody, while one has been released. One of those detained is a man involved in passenger transport. Investigators said they had not yet apprehended the suspect believed to have carried out the murder. The criminal department of the Lublin voivodeship police has joined the search.
The murder occurred on Monday, June 15, shortly before 10:00 a.m. On Queen Jadwiga Street, an unknown assailant fired several shots at a passerby. Despite rapid medical assistance, the victim died at the scene. The shooter allegedly fired from close range and then shot the man as he lay on the ground.
The victim was identified as 44-year-old Russian citizen Semyon Skrepetsky, an author of anti-Putin cartoons who emigrated to Poland in 2021. Last Friday, the artist participated in a protest outside the Russian embassy in Berlin, where he appeared with a Russian flag tied to his trousers and a painting depicting Stalin "feeding" Putin.
It is recalled that in 2024, German police investigated an incident after the mother of Russian opposition figure Vladimir Kara-Murza fell ill in Berlin. Earlier, Azerbaijani opposition activist in exile Vidadi Isgandarli, known for harsh criticism of Azerbaijani authorities, died in France after a severe beating and stab wounds.
