Poland detains individuals in connection with murder of Russian artist
Polish police have detained three individuals in connection with the murder of Russian opposition artist Semyon Skrepetsky in Biała Podlaska. Two are in custody, one released, while the suspected perpetrator remains at large.

In Poland, the murder of Russian opposition artist Semyon Skrepetsky occurred in the city of Biała Podlaska. Skrepetsky, known for his anti-Putin caricatures, had emigrated to Poland in 2021. The murder took place on Monday, June 15, shortly before 10:00 AM on Queen Jadwiga Street. An unknown attacker fired several shots at close range at a passerby, and then shot again at the victim who was already lying on the ground. Despite rapid emergency response, the victim died at the scene.
Police have detained three individuals in connection with the murder. Two are in custody, while one has been released. One of the detained is a man involved in passenger transport. Investigators have stated that the suspect in the murder has not yet been apprehended. Officers from the Criminal Department of the Lublin Voivodeship Police have joined the search.
Skrepetsky was an active opposition figure. Just the previous Friday, he participated in a protest in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin, where he appeared with a Russian flag tied to his trousers and a painting depicting Stalin "feeding" Putin.
