Polish Foreign Minister Assures Continued Support for Ukraine
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has assured Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha that Poland will continue to support Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that he received assurances from his Polish counterpart Radosław Sikorski during a meeting in Warsaw on July 3 that Poland will steadfastly continue to support Ukraine in strengthening its defense capabilities. The meeting took place against the backdrop of heightened tensions in Polish-Ukrainian relations following Polish President Karol Nawrocki's decision to revoke a state honor previously awarded to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the granting of the honorary designation "named after the Heroes of the UPA" to a Ukrainian military unit.
Sybiha briefed Sikorski and the Polish delegation on the situation along the front line and the successes of Ukraine's defense forces, including effective long-range strikes against Russia. "I received assurances that Poland will steadfastly continue to support Ukraine in strengthening our defense capabilities," Sybiha said.
The ministers held detailed discussions on prospects for cooperation in the defense industry and military-technical sphere, and exchanged views ahead of the NATO summit in Ankara. In a statement issued after the meeting, the Polish Foreign Ministry said that Sikorski "reaffirmed Poland's support for Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor" and stressed the strategic importance of deepening military cooperation and ensuring regional stability for the security of Europe as a whole.
Following the meeting, Sybiha proposed "a package of anti-crisis steps" aimed at easing tensions in relations with Poland. On July 3, during a joint press conference, Sikorski and Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said they had agreed on Poland's common position, which Nawrocki will present at the NATO summit in Ankara.
