Bison attacks tourist in Polish forest after he gets too close

A tourist in Poland's Białowieża Forest has been injured after approaching a wild bison at dangerously close range. Witnesses said the man came within four to five meters of the animal before it suddenly charged and knocked him to the ground.

Video shared on social media shows the bison lingering near the man as he lay on the ground, raising concerns for his safety. The animal remained in the vicinity for some time before moving away.

Nature photographer Grzegorz Rynski, who witnessed the incident, shouted at the tourist not to move. He then carefully drove his car between the man and the bison, leaving the door half-open in hopes the victim would climb in. However, the shocked tourist began walking away, forcing Rynski to slowly drive alongside him until they reached a safe distance.

Speaking to Polish television TVN24, Rynski said the bison should not be blamed for what happened. He noted that the man was actually very lucky because the animal was relatively calm, and there are far more aggressive individuals in the forest.

Rynski's wife Aneta, also a witness, said the tourist suffered a deep wound to his lower leg and severe bruises. He required medical attention after the incident.
