Polish deputy speaker claims government secretly transferred Patriot missiles to Ukraine
Krzysztof Bosak, co-leader of Poland's far-right Confederation party and Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, has alleged that the Polish government secretly transferred Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine in March, potentially delaying Poland's own air defense upgrades.

Krzysztof Bosak, a deputy speaker of Poland's parliament and co-leader of the far-right, anti-Ukrainian Confederation party, has claimed that the Polish government secretly transferred Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine in March. According to Bosak, these missiles were part of the Patriot stock Poland purchased from the United States to build its layered air defense system, which remains unfinished.
Bosak noted that these were the only missiles Poland had—or still has—capable of intercepting Russian Iskander missiles, which he said pose a threat from the Kaliningrad Oblast.
In response, Polish Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk stated that the list of military aid provided is classified. However, Marcin Przydacz, Secretary of State and Head of the International Policy Bureau at the Chancellery of the President of Poland, said the claim is highly likely true. Przydacz alleged that the government gave up Poland's place in the queue to receive the missiles from US manufacturers, meaning Poles will have to wait longer for their own systems.
Poland has been one of Ukraine's strongest allies since Russia's full-scale invasion began in 2022, providing military aid and serving as a key logistics hub. However, relations have periodically been strained by historical disputes and agricultural import issues. Recent tensions escalated after Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Poland's highest state honor amid a dispute over a Ukrainian military unit named after UPA heroes.
Additionally, Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz recently said Ukraine withdrew from an agreement to transfer MiG-29 fighter jets in exchange for drone technologies, accusing Ukraine of not sharing the technology due to the historical dispute.
