Political Scientist: Latvia Enters a Period of Prolonged Political Turbulence
Political scientist Juris Rozenvalds warns that Latvia is entering a long-term phase of political instability that will persist after the next parliamentary elections, though the current government can still bring clarity to contentious issues.

Professor Juris Rozenvalds, a political scientist, stated in the "Kāpēc" program on "Delfi TV" that Latvia is now entering a prolonged period of political turbulence. He predicted that the next Saeima will also see significant fragmentation, and infighting among political parties may become even more pronounced.
Regarding the current government led by Andris Kulbergs, Rozenvalds noted that miracles cannot be achieved in the four months remaining before the elections. However, he believes it is realistic to bring greater clarity to many disputed issues and to promote transparency, even if these steps may not be pleasant for the public.
The political scientist suggested that after the 15th Saeima elections, political turbulence will continue in a different form. He indicated that the current government composition is likely the most realistic option even after the elections – a majority in the Saeima could be formed by political forces that consider themselves conservative.
