Porzingis's mother hopes her son can still return to the court
The mother of Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis, Ingrida Porzinge, has said his health problems are emotionally hard on the family. The player himself says he is working with doctors and feeling gradually better.

Health problems have raised concerns about the future of Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis, who has not played for the Golden State Warriors so far this season in the NBA, the National Basketball Association, North America's top professional league. His mother, Ingrida Porzinge, spoke to the magazine “Privātā Dzīve” about how the family is coping.
“Of course, it is emotionally hard. For an athlete this is his whole life. I very much hope that my son will be able to show what he can do again,” she told the publication. Her words suggest it is not easy for relatives to live with uncertainty about his health and his future in professional basketball.
Speculation about his career
Various rumours about Porzingis's condition have circulated recently. He has not been seen in the Warriors lineup at the start of this season, and reports have emerged that, because of his health problems, he might consider ending his career.
The player's own account
On 14 October, Porzingis wrote on the social network X that he is working with doctors and experts to get back to full health as soon as possible. He said he is gradually feeling better. At the same time, he admitted that it is hard to deal with health issues that have no clear explanation so far, on top of injuries during his career.
The basketball player stressed that he has to be patient and believe he will regain his health soon. He thanked people for their support.
His mother hopes her son can return to the court and show his abilities. More about the conversation is available in the latest issue of “Privātā Dzīve”.
