Porzingis' future uncertain as Warriors consider trading him
The NBA's Golden State Warriors are reportedly weighing a trade of Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis, according to ESPN. A reporter also says he may not continue his career if his recovery does not improve significantly.

Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA), North America's top professional basketball league, are considering trading Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis, ESPN reports, citing league sources. His health status remains unclear, and his future in basketball looks increasingly uncertain.
Career may not continue
ESPN reporter Shams Charania, also citing unnamed sources, wrote on the social network X that unless there is a significant breakthrough in Porzingis' recovery, he may not continue his professional career. The Warriors later said they would not comment on media reports about possible trades.
Possible deal with the Bucks
Basketball journalist Evan Sidery wrote on X that the Warriors have contacted the Milwaukee Bucks about a trade in which Golden State would acquire Myles Turner. Porzingis would be one of the players included in the deal.
Health issues
Porzingis missed the team's training camp in Hawaii and every preseason game, and will be unavailable at the start of the season. Last week he came to the club's practice facility and met with team management, but no further details about his condition were given. The Warriors had said he would be around the team but would not take part in training; ESPN, however, reports that the Latvian again did not show up at the facility. The club has promised to announce his return to practice and games when the time is right.
In late June, Porzingis agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Warriors worth 40 million US dollars, but only three million is guaranteed for the second season. While still with the Boston Celtics, he said he was diagnosed with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), which, if untreated, can cause severe fatigue or dizziness.
Golden State will play its first regular-season game on Wednesday.
