Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porzingis will continue his career with the Golden State Warriors after agreeing to a contract extension, as reported by ESPN. The new deal is for two years and is worth $40 million. The second year includes a player option, allowing Porzingis to decide whether to stay with the team or become a free agent.

Last season, which was Porzingis's 10th in the NBA, he began with the Atlanta Hawks before being traded to the Warriors. In a total of 32 games—17 with the Hawks and 15 with the Warriors—he averaged 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks in 24 minutes per game.

In the play-in tournament, Porzingis scored 20 and 11 points in two games, but the Warriors lost the second game and failed to advance to the playoffs.

The Warriors are Porzingis's sixth team in his NBA career. He previously played for the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics, and Atlanta Hawks. In 2024, he became the first Latvian player to win an NBA championship with the Celtics.
