Porziņģis No Longer Listed Among Clients of Agency Co-Founded by His Brother
Basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis no longer appears on the website of the sports agency Future Sports Group. Co-owner Mārtiņš Bērziņš says Kristaps's brother Jānis Porziņģis left the agency in the summer.

A photo of Latvian basketball player Kristaps Porziņģis, who plays in the NBA (the North American professional basketball league), is no longer shown on the website of the sports agency Future Sports Group at the start of this season. The change was noticed publicly and discussed by the sports outlet Sportazinas.com. The agency was set up by Kristaps's brother Jānis Porziņģis together with Mārtiņš Bērziņš, and Jānis had represented Kristaps since the beginning of his career.
What Bērziņš says
Mārtiņš Bērziņš told the portal Jauns.lv that his legal ties with Jānis Porziņģis ended at the start of this summer. The reason, he said, was Jānis's wish to step back from active agent work and devote time to other projects. As a result, the agency has had no obligations toward Kristaps Porziņģis since the summer.
The parties agreed on the terms, including financial ones, under which Jānis leaves the agency. Bērziņš did not disclose them, but said the split was amicable and the two remain in contact.
What company records show
According to the Lursoft database, on 17 June Mārtiņš Bērziņš became the sole owner of the company SIA Future Sports Group. Jānis Porziņģis was a member of its board until 14 July. He originally held 50% of the shares, and from 2 December 2025 until 17 June he held 40%. Future Sports Group also owns two related companies, Future MBB and Future WBB, whose names most likely refer to men's and women's basketball.
Jānis Porziņģis currently holds positions in five companies and associations, including O&P Capital, Landinvest SR, JPorzee, and the associations Kristaps Porziņģis Basketball Academy and Kristaps Porziņģis Scholarship.
Kristaps Porziņģis's situation
The agency's main players listed on the site include Latvia national team members Artūrs Žagars, Rolands Šmits, Rodions Kurucs and Rihards Lomažs. Kristaps Porziņģis is absent from the Golden State Warriors lineup at the start of the new NBA season because of health problems; a new two-year, $40 million contract was announced on 30 June. It has been reported that, due to a recurrence of POTS symptoms, he is even considering ending his career.
