The Memphis Grizzlies have secured restricted free agent Quinten Post after the Golden State Warriors decided not to match the offer sheet. The three-year deal is worth $30 million, but only the first season is fully guaranteed at $9 million. The remaining two years are worth $8.5 million each but are non-guaranteed. The contract also includes difficult-to-attain bonuses, making it unfavorable for the Warriors to match.

Post, 25, was drafted by Golden State with the 52nd overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, he earned a spot in the rotation, becoming a valuable center with a reliable outside shot. He made 73 three-pointers at nearly 41% accuracy in his first season, followed by 33.6% from beyond the arc on 4.1 attempts per game in 17.3 minutes the next season. Post also improved defensively, drawing interest from Memphis.

The Warriors wanted to keep Post, but the financial terms were too unfavorable. After acquiring veteran centers Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis, Post likely would have been the third option at his position. The Grizzlies add Post to a revamped frontcourt that includes No. 3 pick Cameron Boozer and Zach Edey.
