Prada dedicates Milan Fashion Week collection to the skirt

During Milan Fashion Week, fashion house Prada presented its 2027 spring/summer collection, built around one of the oldest and most fundamental elements of women's wardrobe – the skirt. The collection's creators, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, chose to explore this garment in depth, turning it into both the central element of the looks shown on the runway and an object of creative experimentation.

In total, 63 different looks were presented, in which the skirt took on varying roles and functions. In some cases it appeared as a classic, recognizable garment, while in others it served as a starting point for bolder solutions that expand the idea of what this piece of clothing can be in contemporary fashion. This variety allowed the designers to demonstrate how broad the interpretation of a single, seemingly simple garment can be.

The choice to build the collection around the skirt also underlines the historical significance of the garment – it is one of the oldest elements of women's clothing altogether, and the designers used it as a starting point for a wider study of form, function and style.
