Restoration of Liepāja Stadium Lawn Damaged by „Prāta Vētra” Concert to Cost €16,000
Repairing the lawn at Liepāja's Daugava Stadium after the „Prāta Vētra” concert will cost around €16,000, covered by insurance. The stadium is expected to be ready for footballers by the end of August.

Last week's concert by the band „Prāta Vētra” at Liepāja's Daugava Stadium left the pitch damaged. According to representative Kristiāna Pauliņa, the restoration will cost approximately €16,000. Adverse weather conditions—heavy rainfall during both setup and teardown of the stage—caused the damage.
The band's management stated that experts have assessed the lawn and a restoration plan is in place, with athletes expected to return to the field within about a month. The costs will be covered by the tour's official insurer, „Balcia”. The work schedule aims to have the stadium ready for footballers by the end of August.
Dace Freidenfelde of Liepāja municipality noted that such risks are considered in advance for major events. The concert organizers had insured against potential lawn damage, so the insurer will cover the expenses.
Daugava Stadium, with a capacity of around 4,000 spectators, meets international football standards and is the home ground of FC „Liepāja”. The club has advanced to the second round of the UEFA Conference League and will face Vienna's „Austria” later this month.
