Updated Jāņi Weather Forecast: Rain at Night, Sun During the Day
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has updated the weather forecast for Jāņi: rain is expected on the night before Monday and on Jāņi night, but days will be mostly dry and warm.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre has released an updated weather forecast for the Jāņi celebrations. On the night before Monday, which is Līgo evening, central and eastern regions will see occasional rain, locally with thunderstorms and heavy downpours. During the day, skies will be mostly clear with no precipitation. Light winds will bring fog in some areas overnight, reducing visibility. Nighttime temperatures will range from +12 to +17°C, rising to +22…+27°C during the day, slightly cooler on the coast at +20…+22°C.
On Līgo day (Monday), variable cloudiness is expected but no rain. On the night before Tuesday, fog may form in western areas, with light winds persisting. Temperatures at night will be +11…+16°C, warming to +20…+24°C during the day, a few degrees cooler on the coast.
On Jāņi night (Tuesday night), skies will be mostly cloudy, with light rain in western and central regions. During the day, sun and clouds will alternate, with occasional rain and possible thunderstorms in eastern areas in the afternoon. Winds will be light. Nighttime temperatures will drop to +11…+15°C, daytime highs reaching +18…+23°C.
In the second half of the week, weather patterns will remain similar, with occasional light rain and light variable winds. The weekend is expected to be largely dry, with temperatures approaching or even exceeding +30°C during daylight hours.
