Reconstruction of Kooperatīvā Street in Preiļi nears completion
The EU co-financed reconstruction of Kooperatīvā Street in the town of Preiļi, Latvia, is nearing its end. Work is due to finish by 31 December, and traffic restrictions remain possible until then.

The reconstruction of Kooperatīvā Street in Preiļi, a town in Latvia, is approaching completion, according to the Preiļi Municipality. The project is co-financed by the European Union, and all work is scheduled to be finished by 31 December this year. Until then, traffic restrictions remain possible in the construction zone.
What has been done
Asphalt has already been laid on the street and horizontal road markings have been applied. The road surface renewal covers a 0.867-kilometre stretch. Alongside it, builders have installed storm water drainage, rebuilt the water supply and domestic sewage networks, and created a pedestrian and cycle path. Lighting is planned at pedestrian crossings.
The project's cooperation partner, the company SIA “Preiļu saimnieks”, is also installing new heating networks along a total length of 2.770 kilometres in the street area.
What remains
The remaining work involves tidying up the infrastructure and final works on the site. Once construction is completed, residents and businesses will be able to use the renewed infrastructure.
Appeal to road users
The municipality reminds the public that traffic restrictions are possible until construction is fully completed. Drivers and other road users are asked to observe the temporary road signs and to take care in the construction zone.
