Premier League team of the week: Kadioglu, Lerma, Justin, Pinnock and Calafiori in defence

BBC Sport football pundit Troy has revealed the players he has picked for his Premier League team of the week. The Premier League is England's top football division. This part of the selection covers the defenders, with a short assessment of each player's showing in the latest round.

Brighton and Crystal Palace

Brighton's Ferdi Kadioglu earns his place for a big block in the second half. In Troy's view it prevented the score from becoming 1-1, and if the floodgates had opened it would have been a problem. He notes that Kadioglu is not known for his defending, but that he was great here.

Crystal Palace's Jefferson Lerma is normally a central midfielder but played at centre-back. He scored a goal, made some big tackles and was able to play out from the back, acting as the catalyst for Palace.

Leeds, Coventry and Arsenal

Leeds' James Justin is selected for a goal. Troy says Justin loves playing against Arsenal and points to his development since his Leicester days: he can play right wing-back or right centre-back. In Troy's opinion he does not get nearly enough credit, and he could have scored more on the day.

Coventry's Ethan Pinnock joined from Brentford. Troy admits he first thought it was a questionable move for Coventry, but says he was wrong: Pinnock has been excellent, a big physical presence who also calms those around him and talks them through games. Since he came into the side, Coventry have improved week on week.

Arsenal's Riccardo Calafiori is described by Troy as probably Arsenal's best forward at the moment. He gets into good positions, is solid defensively and also contributes assists and goals.
