Kristaps Avots appointed as Prime Minister's parliamentary secretary
Kristaps Avots, previously an external advisor on ICT and elections, has been named the parliamentary secretary of Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs.

The State Chancellery, citing the LETA agency, has announced the appointment of Kristaps Avots as the parliamentary secretary to Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs. Avots previously served as an external advisor to the Prime Minister on information and communication technology (ICT) and election matters.
The decision takes effect immediately. It remains unclear whether Avots will retain any of his previous responsibilities. The position of parliamentary secretary is a political role aimed at ensuring communication between the Cabinet of Ministers and the Saeima (Parliament).
Avots is known for his work in digital governance and modernization of electoral processes. His expertise is expected to be leveraged to advance the country's digital transformation and improve IT solutions within public administration.
