Prestigious trail running series debuts in Latvia: 'Gauja Trail by UTMB' to gather 3000 athletes
In early August, Latvia will host its first UTMB World Series event, attracting 3000 participants from 50 countries. The race in Gauja National Park offers a chance to qualify for the famous Mont Blanc ultramarathon.

In the first days of August, Latvia will for the first time host a stage of the world's most prestigious trail running series, the UTMB World Series Events. The event, called Gauja Trail by UTMB, will take place in Gauja National Park. Approximately 3000 athletes from 50 countries are expected, including several high-level trail runners aiming to qualify for the UTMB race around Mont Blanc in the Alps. Notable Latvian participants include Riga Marathon organizer Aigars Nords, Latvian Television journalist Uģis Joksts, and biathlete Baiba Bendika.
