Air defenses downed 79 of 90 Russian drones targeting Ukraine
Russia attacked Ukraine with 90 drones overnight, 79 of which were destroyed, while 9 hit targets.

The attack began on the evening of June 18 and continued into the morning of June 19. Russian forces used various drone types, including Shahed, Gerbera, Itelmas, and Banderol. The drones were launched from Bryansk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Hvardiiske in occupied Crimea.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as of 8:30 am, air defenses had neutralized 79 drones. Out of those, 9 struck targets at 8 locations, and wreckage from downed drones fell at 8 other sites. The defense involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
The attack is ongoing – as of the morning of June 19, several Russian drones remain in Ukrainian airspace.
