On the morning of Jāņi (Midsummer), the President of Latvia made an unusual observation while at Majori beach in Jūrmala – a fox was spotted in the coastal zone, surprisingly close to the residential area. The President shared the encounter on social media, writing: "All good Midsummer grass… someone had a tough Midsummer morning in Majori."

Such urban wildlife sightings are rare, but nature experts note that wild animals are increasingly venturing into populated areas, especially during early morning hours when there are fewer people and less noise. Researchers remind the public not to approach wild animals and to allow them to leave peacefully. The fox became one of the most discussed topics of the morning on social media, where users commented with humor and festive spirit.
