“Priekule/Ruģi” crowned Liepāja amateur football champions
“Priekule/Ruģi” beat “Liepāja Beach Cafe” 1:0 in the final to win the WindUp.lv Liepāja city amateur football championship, with several of their players also picking up individual awards.

On Thursday evening, around 200 spectators watched the finals of the WindUp.lv Liepāja city amateur football championship at the “Daugava” stadium. In the final, “Priekule/Ruģi” defeated “Liepāja Beach Cafe” 1:0 to claim the title.
Both finalists played cautiously, focusing first on defending their own goal. In the middle of the second half, Pauls Skābardis scored what turned out to be the winning goal. After that, the game opened up, with Priekule's side relying on quick counterattacks while the Liepāja team pushed forward late in the match trying to equalize. Goalkeeper Ralfs Jansons made several key saves to preserve the lead.
Individual awards
Ralfs Jansons was named the tournament's best goalkeeper, while Pauls Skābardis received the most valuable player award. The best forward title went to Daniels Sērmoliņš of “TEM”, who also shared the tournament's top scorer title with 16 goals, tying with Rignārs Zvirbulis of “1625 Liepāja”.
Bronze medal match
The bronze medal was contested between “TEM” and “SLV Pluss”, whose regular match ended in a 1:1 draw. The bronze was decided in a penalty shootout, where goalkeeper Ruslans Nakipovs saved one penalty, securing third place for “SLV Pluss”.
Denis Vitkovskis was named best player of the silver-medal team, while Arturs Budicis was recognized as the most valuable player among the bronze medalists.
