Priekuļi to host season-closing "cb – xp" MTB XCO cross-country round
Priekuļi will host a "cb – xp" Latvian Cup MTB XCO cross-country round for the first time, serving as the season finale that will determine the overall champions.
Priekuļi, a location already familiar to the mountain biking community, will take on a new role as it hosts a "cb – xp" Latvian Cup MTB XCO cross-country round for the very first time. The event carries extra weight, as the "Friends of Priekuļi XCO" race will close out this season, deciding who takes home the overall championship titles.
The competition hub will be set up at the "Cēsis" Ski and Biathlon Centre. The course was designed by Igors Juršēvics, together with his family, and Māris Krūze, resulting in a technically demanding and visually striking track. Riders will face a range of obstacles, including so-called "drops," rocky sections, and other technical tests designed to challenge their skills.
Race schedule
Racing begins at 11:00 with the easier-course category, featuring the M12, W12 and W14 groups along with hobby-level men and women. At 12:15, the M16, M14, M4, M5+, W1+ and W16–18 categories will take to the course. The day wraps up at 14:10 with the start of the top categories — elite/U23 men, juniors, the 19–34 amateur men's group, the younger Masters men's group, as well as the women's elite/U23/19–34 amateur category.
Organisers have also arranged an obstacle course at the event site for children, teenagers and adults. A café will be open throughout the day, and the event will close with an awards ceremony for the season's overall standings.
