A formal state banquet has been held at Windsor Castle, a residence of the British royal family. It was organised in honour of the visit to Britain by Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman, a country on the Arabian Peninsula whose ruler holds the title of sultan.

The banquet was one of the official events of the sultan's visit, and members of the British royal family attended. Particular attention fell on the outfit of Princess Catherine. For the evening she chose a lemon-yellow dress by the fashion house Elie Saab.

The tiara

The princess completed her look with Queen Mary's Lover's Knot tiara. The source describes it as one of the most recognisable tiaras in the history of the British royal family.

The source gives no further details about the running of the banquet, the guests or the content of any talks.
