Prince Harry and family to return to Britain after six years in the US
Prince Harry and Meghan are planning to return to live in Britain after more than six years in the United States, settling near London. King Charles III was reportedly informed of the decision recently.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan are planning a long-term return to live in Britain after several years based in the United States. Several media outlets, including the BBC and Associated Press, reported this citing sources.
According to the BBC, the couple will move from the US to Britain at the end of August and settle in a private home outside London. Their seven-year-old son, Prince Archie, and five-year-old daughter, Princess Lilibet, have already been enrolled in a British school for this academic year.
King Charles III was reportedly informed of the decision over the weekend. For now, Harry and Meghan do not plan to resume duties as working members of the royal family. At the same time, the couple will keep their home in California, where they have been living, as well as their summer residence in Portugal.
A strained relationship with the royal family
Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties and moved to California more than six years ago. Since then, their relationship with the rest of the royal family has deteriorated, and after the release of a Netflix documentary about their lives, a majority of Britons supported stripping Harry of his royal title.
As a reminder, in autumn 2025 the king's brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, was stripped of his title over allegations of ties to disgraced American financier Jeffrey Epstein. Unofficial reports suggested an investigation into him may have been opened.
