Prince Harry is set to learn the outcome of a long-running court case he and others brought against Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), publisher of the Daily Mail. The ruling is expected at around 2pm BST on Tuesday.

The case centers on allegations of unlawful information-gathering, including voicemail interception, landline tapping, and obtaining information by deception – known as “blagging” – carried out by private investigators, freelance journalists, and ANL staff.

The Duke of Sussex claims that 14 articles published by ANL between 2001 and 2013 were based on unlawfully obtained information. The articles, his lawyers said, focused intrusively on his relationships before meeting his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. ANL has strongly denied any wrongdoing and is defending the claims, which are also brought by other high-profile figures including Elton John, his husband David Furnish, actor Sadie Frost, and campaigner Baroness Doreen Lawrence.

Prince Harry, who now lives in the US, arrived alone in London on Monday to begin a week of engagements that coincide with the ruling. His wife Meghan and their children, Archie (7) and Lilibet (5), did not travel due to security concerns.

Harry had hoped to stay at a royal residence during his visit, but plans fell through due to logistical issues. Palace officials said every effort was made to accommodate him, but insufficient notice made staffing arrangements impossible. They denied the invitation was withdrawn due to potential awkwardness surrounding the court ruling, a suggestion that upset Harry's team.

It remains unclear whether Harry will see his father, King Charles, who has a busy schedule. Harry is also set to visit Birmingham to promote the Invictus Games and attend other charity events.
