Prince William Secretly Rides Motorcycle Despite Kate's Worries
Prince William has revealed he still rides motorcycles, a hobby his wife Kate Middleton finds worrying. He does it secretly to avoid upsetting her.

Prince William has admitted that he continues to ride motorcycles, despite his wife Princess Kate's concerns. He does so secretly to avoid causing her distress. The revelation came during a visit to the Norfolk Blood Bikes charity, which delivers medical supplies by motorcycle around the clock.
While inspecting the fleet, William said: “I like motorcycles. I still ride sometimes, but quietly.” He added with a smile: “Secretly.” At Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, he praised the volunteers, calling them a vital part of the healthcare system.
Kate’s worries are not new. In 2015, when the couple had been married for four years, she openly spoke about her fears: “He still rides a motorcycle. Every time he goes out, I’m gripped with fear. I worry a lot. I hope I can discourage George from this passion.”
After becoming a father of three, William has significantly reduced his riding. In 2018, while visiting the Isle of Man TT races, he said: “I’m a father of three now, so I have to be more careful. I miss the long rides.” That same year, he couldn’t resist test-riding a Triumph Tiger 1200 at the factory in Hinckley, calling it a “very pleasant” but too short experience.
William obtained his motorcycle license in 2002 at age 19. Later, he and his brother Harry took part in a charity ride in South Africa, covering over 1,600 kilometers and raising £500,000.
His father, King Charles III, has also expressed concerns about his son’s safety on the road, noting that motorcyclists are often overlooked by other drivers.
