It has been announced where 24-year-old Latvian national ice hockey forward Prohorenkovs will continue his career. He spent the previous four seasons playing college hockey in the United States for Niagara University in the NCAA. Over those four seasons, he appeared in 147 games, scoring 31 goals and adding 56 assists for a total of 87 points.

However, the past season was less productive: in 36 games, he managed only one goal and 16 assists. Earlier in his career, Prohorenkovs also played in the NAHL junior league and in Latvia for clubs such as Rīga, Rīgas Dinamo, and Olimp.

Representing Latvia at two World Championships, he played 12 games without registering a point. The name of his new club has not been disclosed, but it is confirmed that he will move to a different team.
