Prosecutors seek to confiscate over $7.4M-hryvnia assets of former deputy head of Lviv draft office
Ukraine's Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has asked the High Anti-Corruption Court to declare unlawful the assets of Oleksandr Drapinskyi, former deputy head of the Lviv regional recruitment centre, worth over 7.4 million hryvnias. The assets, including cars and a house, have already been seized.
Ukraine's Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court seeking to have the assets of Colonel Oleksandr Drapinskyi declared unfounded. Drapinskyi previously served as deputy head of the Lviv regional territorial recruitment and social support centre, the successor to the former military enlistment office. The combined value of the disputed assets exceeds 7.4 million hryvnias.
According to the lawsuit, between 2021 and 2023 the official acquired property that he registered under the names of relatives in order to conceal it. These include a Mercedes-Benz GL 350 CDI and a Nissan Juke registered to his father and sister but actually used by the official and his wife, as well as a plot of land and a house registered under his mother-in-law's name.
Prosecutors say an analysis of the income and expenses of the official and his family members shows the property could not have been acquired through legitimate earnings. The case is based on lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), along with evidence gathered independently by the prosecutor.
The High Anti-Corruption Court has already ordered the seizure of the property at the prosecutor's request as an interim measure to secure the claim. Further updates on the case will follow.
Background
In March 2026, SBI investigators completed a pre-trial investigation into Drapinskyi, who was acting head of the centre at the time the case was exposed. An indictment has been sent to court. Investigators found that for 2023–2024 the official failed to declare a 0.025-hectare plot of land and a 139-square-metre house in the Lviv district, both registered to his mother-in-law though allegedly bought with his own funds. The declaration also omitted the Mercedes and Nissan vehicles registered to his father and sister but used by him and his wife.
