Prosecutor's Office Demands Cancellation of Government Decisions Supporting Wood Industry
The General Prosecutor's Office has sent a protest to the government, stating that the Cabinet of Ministers' actions to change the wood pricing procedure at AS “Latvijas Valsts meži” were unlawful.

After several months of investigation, the prosecutor's office has concluded that the Cabinet of Ministers' decisions instructing AS “Latvijas Valsts meži” (LVM) to alter the wood pricing procedure were illegal. This was reported by TV3.
The General Prosecutor's Office has submitted a formal protest to the government, demanding the cancellation of these decisions. The prosecutor's office argues that the government's intervention in LVM's pricing process violated legal regulations.
It is not yet clear how the government will respond to the protest. The decisions to support wood industry players were made to boost the sector's competitiveness, but the prosecutor's office considers them unlawful.
