Prosecutors seek to confiscate assets worth over 7.4 million hryvnias from ex-deputy head of Lviv military recruitment office
Ukraine's Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit seeking to have assets worth more than 7.4 million hryvnias, allegedly belonging to a former deputy head of the Lviv regional recruitment centre, declared unlawfully obtained. The official is accused of registering the property under relatives to conceal it.
Ukraine's Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court seeking to have the assets of Colonel Oleksandr Drapinskyi, a former deputy head of the Lviv Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centre, declared unjustified. The total value of the assets exceeds 7.4 million hryvnias.
According to prosecutors, between 2021 and 2023 the official acquired property that he registered under people close to him in order to conceal it. This includes a Mercedes-Benz GL 350 CDI and a Nissan Juke, registered to his father and sister but actually used by the official and his wife, as well as a plot of land and a house registered under his mother-in-law.
An analysis of the income and expenses of the official and his family members allegedly shows that these assets could not have been acquired through legitimate income. The lawsuit is based on a lifestyle monitoring review conducted by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK) and the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR), together with evidence gathered independently by the prosecutor.
At the prosecutor's request, the High Anti-Corruption Court has already ordered the seizure of the property as an interim measure to secure the claim. Further updates on the case will be reported once the court reaches a decision.
Background
In March 2026, the State Bureau of Investigation completed a pre-trial investigation into the deputy head of the Lviv regional recruitment centre, who was acting head of the office at the time the case came to light. An indictment has been sent to court. The investigation found that for 2023–2024 the official failed to declare a 0.025-hectare plot of land and a 139-square-metre house in the Lviv district, which was registered under his mother-in-law despite being purchased with his own funds. The declaration also omitted the Mercedes and Nissan vehicles registered to his father and sister but actually used by him and his wife.
