The match in Manchester
Early on, City players wanted a penalty after Rayan Cherki went down in the visitors' box, but the referee judged the contact insufficient. PSG then scored three times: Désiré Doué in the 13th minute, Ousmane Dembélé, the current Ballon d'Or holder, in the 15th, and Vitinha in the 32nd. Before that, Achraf Hakimi's header had hit the post.
Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was facing his former club City for the first time. In the second half Erling Haaland scored in the 53rd and 75th minutes. The first goal made him City's all-time leading scorer in the Champions League, ahead of Sergio Agüero, who has 36. Between Haaland's goals, PSG made it 4-1 in the 63rd minute when Donnarumma parried Mahmoud Akliouche's shot but the ball still rolled into the net. Late on, Ferran Torres had a penalty saved.
