PSG snatch late equalizer to draw with Lille
Paris Saint-Germain came from behind to draw 2:2 away at Lille, scoring twice in stoppage time. It is the second match in a row this season where PSG avoided defeat but settled for a draw.
In the second round of France's Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain traveled to Lille and the match ended in a 2:2 draw.
The hosts took the lead early, with Haakon Haraldsen finding the net in the 21st minute after a pass from experienced forward Olivier Giroud. PSG had a chance to respond before halftime, but Fabian Ruiz's shot from the edge of the box was straight at goalkeeper Berke Özer. Both sides created further chances in the second half, including a header from Giroud that went just wide.
About five minutes before the end of regular time, substitute Dilane Bakwa doubled Lille's lead with a powerful strike from the right side of the penalty area. It looked as though Lille was heading for victory, but PSG showed character in stoppage time. Vitinha pulled one back with a precise shot into the far corner, and then, in the fifth minute of added time, team captain Marquinhos headed home from a cross to make it 2:2.
With this result, PSG avoided defeat for the second time this season but also settled for a draw for the second time. After two rounds, Lille tops the standings with four points, while PSG sits sixth with two points.
