PSG snatch another late comeback draw as City and Bayern impress across Europe

Ligue 1's second matchday brought more late drama for Paris Saint-Germain. Just as they did the previous week against Rennes, PSG fell behind 2-0 away at Lille before mounting another remarkable comeback. Vitinha got the fightback started, and Marquinhos salvaged a point late on as the match ended 2-2.

Elsewhere in Europe, Manchester City put in a dominant display in the Premier League, beating Crystal Palace 4-1 with braces from Rayan Cherki and Erling Haaland.

In Germany's Bundesliga, Bayern Munich's French players stood out in a 5-1 win over Stuttgart. Dayot Upamecano opened the scoring for the season, while Michael Olise, who also found the net, was named Man of the Match.

In Serie A, new AC Milan signing Gonçalo Ramos, formerly of PSG, opened the scoring as Milan defeated Venezia 2-0.

In Saudi Arabia's Pro League, Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 978th goal of his career to help Al-Nassr to victory.

Draws and transfers

The Europa League and Conference League draws took place in Monaco. Lyon were drawn against Bayer Leverkusen and Crystal Palace, among others, while Marseille will face Leverkusen as well as Celtic and Besiktas. Rennes will play Juventus, and in the Conference League, Monaco will travel to Brighton.

The transfer market also saw significant activity, especially at Aston Villa, where Ollie Watkins departed as Senegal international Nicolas Jackson arrived. PSG youngster Ibrahim Mbaye is reportedly close to joining Villa as well, while Marseille are working to move on Leonardo Balerdi, who is said to be heading to Roma.

In cycling, Norway's Andreas Leknessund claimed a strong stage win at the Vuelta a España, though Tadej Pogačar remains firmly in control of the overall race.
