The Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) has reported that prices for certain food products have fallen more sharply than expected after the introduction of the reduced 12% value-added tax (VAT) rate. The agency said the majority of traders are correctly applying the new regulation.

According to PTAC, the prices of milk, eggs, bread and poultry decreased even more than was forecast. The centre made this assessment public after reviewing the situation in retail chains.
